Leaders in global imaging innovation, STC, has announced a brand-new folding grip solution for Sony Full Frame Mirrorless cameras, giving Sony shooters greater stability and immediate benefit with weight distribution when using medium-to-large lenses.
STC’s latest product announcement, designed specifically for the growing number of Sony full-frame camera users, has been through almost two years of development to ensure its performance, solid build and clever fold-away design.
The new grip’s clever design and folding function allow the camera to sit completely flat and can be used with a single hand. The entire unit has been manufactured from extremely tough, yet light aerospace-level aluminium alloy, adding just 75g to the camera when attached. Users can keep shooting by easily accessing the camera battery door without removing the grip. Furthermore, ultimate compatibility is assured with both quick-release plates and L-Brackets.
The new Fogrip for Sony Full Frame Mirrorless cameras is compatible with the following models: α9 / α7II / α7III / α7SII / α7RII / α7RIII
Whilst full-frame mirrorless cameras are smaller and lighter than their DSLR counterparts, they can still become a strain when shooting for hours on end, or when using large lenses. STC’s new Fogrip for Sony Full Frame Mirrorless cameras addresses this issue by giving users 25% more grip when shooting handheld, making it easier to shoot for longer periods of time and added stability to support lens weight. Furthermore, the new Fogrip for Sony is compatible with quick-release plates and L-Brackets, allowing for easy transfer and use tripods, along with unobstructed, effortless access to the battery door without the need to remove the grip.
William Wu, CEO and Lead Design Engineer, STC, said: “It is our drive for innovation that has led to the development of this new Fogrip solution for Sony full-frame mirrorless camera users. We believe we have produced the perfect grip, delivering huge benefits in practicality as the grip has been designed specifically for the Sony range. It is light, strong and yet, due to our meticulous research and development process, offers incredible compatibility and access for photographers and filmmakers.”
